The BVB Army Wants
You
Attend church.....The ‘Church of
the Wild Ones’ tour that is. It is the biggest headlining tour to kick off
Black Veil Brides latest album, ‘Wretched and Divine: The Story of the Wild
Ones’. They started off the tour in Las Vegas on January 4th, 2013.
It’s the first full World-Wide tour in a long time for the band. The last time
they toured throughout all of America was their debut tour in 2010. And let me
tell you, it was long worth the wait.
Black Veil Brides is a new
groundbreaking band from Hollywood California, originally called ‘Biersack’
from Ohio, in 2006. The band is composed of Andy Biersack (lead vocals), Ashley
Purdy (bass, backup vocals), Jake Pitts (lead guitar), Jinxx (rhythm guitar,
violin) and Christian “CC” Coma (drums). Black Veil Brides is known for their “out-there”
look, inspired by Motley Crue and KISS. They are also known, as always standing
up for themselves and fans (BVB army). “Never give in, never back down,” a
lyric from Knives and Pens, off their debut album. They are personally known to
me, as one of my favorite bands and close friends. On January 11th,
I had the pleasure of joining the tour for two nights to sell merchandise for
this ground breaking band. Even though I didn’t get to experience the full
crowd experience, I got to watch from the sideline. Seeing the entire crowd
excited, crying, and jumping around to their favorite music, pleased me. I
remember seeing this band for the first time at their first, real gig in 2009.
I put on my “war paint” with the rest of the “army”, and waited from three in
the afternoon until the doors opened to see these five amazingly, talented
boys.
This band stands up for their fans
and gives them the best show they can give. Big crowd or small, festival or
venue, they are always giving it their all. The lead singer has proven it multiple
times; even having things thrown at him, breaking his ribs and bones. But
throughout all this, he has never given up on his fans, and continued the show.
Being in that crowd and seeing everyone around you dressed up, crying, and
begging for a guitar pick or drum stick makes you feel like your apart of
something. It’s literally the best feeling! The bass in the pit of your stomach
makes you feel alive, even if for only one night. Attending this tour was the
best night of my year, and your should experience this.
Long story short, this tour is an
excellent showing of how dedicated this band is to their “army”. For only 20
dollars a ticket, you can enjoy an epic show with an epic band, with a life
changing message. “No, this may not be your ideal church, but it’s better than
nothing” (William Control). Everyone deserves to believe in something, if that’s
a band, themselves, or a god. Although Black Veil Brides is not a religious
band, it stills wants to put you on a good path. Now go join the BVB army!
